Measure with a quart like the wind

Intention: A futile act performed, but the sacrifice was so great to do, but to no avail. Measure with a quart wind means the wind caught with nets, of course, would never have managed to get the wind. The moral of this proverb or advice is we should have thorough and meticulous in every action.
